MRNF's Tige Compilation Software The MRNF's Tige software manages timber cruise and silvicultural cutting treatment (commercial harvest) in both deciduous and mixed forests and boreal forests. This software can create a database based on sampling units (SU), sample plots (SP), clusters of micro regeneration plots (MRP) and stems (ST). This software's primary functions are database creation and management, data compilation based on various criteria (species, diameter, harvesting priority, etc.), production of compiled files and creation of dendrometric reports enabling fast, accurate analysis of silvicultural cutting treatment to improve knowledge of the forestry sector. Consequently, the Tige application is an essential tool for accurately analyzing silvicultural cutting treatment, following timber marking and following harvesting. « TIGE's primary function is to let users manage and compile data quickly and reliably in a single format for all. The results generated by this inventory database will also support optimal forest planning and operations » (Tige User Guide, 2002).
